One thing families have often felt they had to sadly abandon in the present economic situation is their vacation! Dad’s working longer hours, often for less pay, Mom often struggles just to put the same quality food on the table and there seem to be incessant demands on the finances but the money can only go so far!
But it doesn’t have to been that way! Yes, the vacation in Hawaii might have to be put on hold for a year or two, but with a bit of planning every family can have an awesome vacation that everyone will enjoy and the “Batteries” will get a serious re-charge!
First thing is ask yourself “is there any stuff around here we’d all love to see?” You’d be amazed at how many kids living in LA have never been to Disneyland! Yet, it’s just around the corner! Or what about a local historical site? Or Science museum? Many of these places have special deals running during the holidays, all you have to do is find them!
Many of them can be found through the net and can save you a whole bundle of money. It just takes a little planning and research, but imagine their faces when you pull up at the gate and they realize that they are going to be walking where Neil Armstrong walked on his way to the moon! Or turning the corner they see a fort that the seven year old realizes is none other than the Alamo! And you know you did it without breaking the Bank.
Everyone wins and everyone gets a vacation.
